While the Highland Parking Garage will be your most accessible option for parking for your Humanities Seminar, we have had students express concern about the parking and have compiled a list of alternative suggestions.

**Note: These are suggestions from fellow students, and HSP Staff may not be familiar with the details of these options. We have included links to websites if you would like more information about any below.

1. Pay Online from a computer before you leave home –

Go to: https://park.passportparking.com/park/ from your computer and pay for your parking before leaving home. You will enter your payment information and choose what time you plan to leave as the end time. This will be slightly more expensive than paying when you get to campus because parking time starts as soon as you pay, but the exact extra cost will depend on how long your drive is.

2. Use a different garage on campus – Most other garages on campus still have credit card kiosks, and you are welcome to park in any other garage and walk to the Rubel Room. The closest garage is Park Avenue, about a 5-minute walk West of the Poetry Center on Park Ave next to Eller College of Management. For more information regarding visitor parking, please visit the University of Arizona’s Parking Page: https://parking.arizona.edu/parking/garages/visitor-parking/

3. Lyft/Uber – If you are comfortable with Uber or Lyft, some of our students have found it a convenient alternative to finding parking on campus. They can drop you off right in front of the building. (Average cost for a one-way ride varies between $10-$25). For more information, visit: https://www.uber.com/ or https://www.lyft.com/

4. SunLink Street Car – The Sunlink streetcar starts the Avenida del Convento downtown and ends on Helen Street just East of the Poetry Center. There are various stops through downtown, 4th avenue, and the University. The stop is a bit further walk from the Poetry Center (about one block), but it is cheaper with a $1.75 one-way fare and can be convenient if you live in the downtown area. For more information, visit: https://www.sunlinkstreetcar.com/

5. SunTran Bus – The SunTran bus runs throughout Tucson regularly. Several lines run directly to the University and can be another cost-effective option for those with longer commutes. For more information, visit: https://www.suntran.com/index.php

6. President’s Club Parking – President’s Club membership is through the University of Arizona Foundation based on a combined annual amount of $2500. There are various benefits, including a parking pass that allows you to park in Zone 1 parking by the poetry center. For more information on how to become a member of the President’s Club, visit: https://giving.arizona.edu/presidents-club
